CHAIR OF UCF ART DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT ONE-DAY WORKSHOP AND SLIDE LECTURE. Rob Reedy, Chair
of the Art Department at the University of Central Florida, will conduct a ceramics workshop from 9:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, in the ceramics studio, Sampson Hall. Reedy will demonstrate throwing
and hand-built techniques of vessel-oriented artwork. That evening, at 7:00 p.m. in 5L duPont-Ball Library, Mr.
Reedy will give a slide lecture. Both activities are free and open to the public. Students needing credit for
attendance at University-sponsored cultural events may attend the slide lecture for credit.
ART DEPARTMENT T-SHIRTS NOW AVAILABLE. The very latest Art T-Shirt, featuring a colorful Dan Gunderson
sphere (currently on exhibit at the Duncan Gallery), is available in the Art Department, 214 Sampson Hall.

STETSON LAW SCHOOL AND THE SECOND DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL HOST CRIMINAL PRACTICE
CONFERENCE. The College of Law and the Second District Court of Appeal will host the Third Edward F.
Boardman Criminal Practice Conference on Friday, September 27, 1996, at the Crowne Plaza Esthore in Tampa
with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. This conference features a faculty of judges, criminal law attorneys and
law professors who will provide an expert overview on selected issues in criminal law. A criminal law legislative
update, supreme court update, Pettis issues, preservation of error, proper motion for judgement of acquittal,
Richardson hearing issues, and lesser included offenses will be covered at the morning session. Special concurrent
workshop sessions focusing on particular topics within the criminal law area will be featured in the afternoon.
Included will be a DUI Workshop and Domestic Violence Session as well as a luncheon presentation on Ethical

STETSON LAW SCHOOL TO HOLD ELDER LAW SEMINAR. The College of Law will hold its Ninth CLE Seminar
on Elder Law, "Nursing Home Litigation" on Friday, October 18, at the Ramada Resort Deauville, Miami Beach,
Florida, with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. The objective of the Seminar is to provide an in-depth
intermediate review and interdisciplinary discussion of legal issues related to the elderly. The program is designed
for attorneys, prosecutors law enforcement professionals, health care practitioners, gerontologists, nursing home
administrators, guardians and other elder care professionals. The seminar will feature presentations on nursing
home litigation from both sides; basic elements of nursing home liability; filing and defending complaints and causes
of action vs. nursing homes, including resident rights; Medicaid changes in the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996; elder law litigation skills training and a mock hearing demonstration. To register or

STETSON LAW SCHOOL SPONSORS WORKSHOP ON "ELDER ABUSE." The College of Law, in conjunction with
The Office of the Attorney General and The Florida Department of Elder Affairs, will sponsor a workshop entitled
"Elder Abuse" on October 17, 1996. This workshop precedes the above-mentioned Seminar to be held on October
18. Registration begins both days at 8:00 a.m. at the Ramada Resort Deauville, Miami Beach.
