The Muse Bookstore in DeLand is hosting a wine and cheese reception and book-signing for Paul Jerome Croce
today, Friday, October 6, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Paul's new book is entitled, "Science and Religion in the Era of William

Live in Elizabeth Hall, October 10, 7:30 p.m. If you are in town during Fall Break, treat yourself to an exciting
evening of organ music on Tuesday evening. The concert is presented by the Central Florida Chapter of the
American Guild of Organists who are meeting on our campus, and will feature three new organists to our area,
Stetson University organist Susan Klotzbach and two organist/choirmasters from Winter Park, Bradford Gee of St.
Richard's Episcopal Church and Hugh McLean of All Saints Episcopal Church. They will play works from the 17th
through the 20th centuries. One of the highlights will be Dr. Klotzbach's performance of William Albright's Dance
of Death for solo pedals. The concert is free to all.
Live in Stover Theatre, October 12, 13, 14, 7:30 p.m. Stetson University Opera Theatre presents Don Giovanni:
or The Rake Punished, a comic drama in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Based on the legend of Don
Juan, Mozart's musical and theatrical masterpiece details the comic/tragic last days of the legendary lover. Our
production of Don Giovanni is sung IN ENGLISH. It features the Stetson Voice Department and faculty artists Dr.
Lloyd Linney with stage direction by Dr. Craig Maddox. The Stetson University Orchestra is under the baton of
its new director, Maestro Darryl One. Stetson Music School performances are free to Stetson personnel and

THE QUORUM ISSUE. Even though the minutes of the last Faculty Meeting show that the motion to increase
quorum at Faculty Meetings to 40% plus one of all faculty passed, our Parliamentarian has since raised some
concerns about the outcome of that vote concerning discrepancies with the vote and voting procedure. While the
faculty have voiced their opinion, which is duly noted in the minutes of the meeting and by the vote to increase
quorum, the supporters of raising quorum want to make sure there are no questions about the vote or the faculty's
wishes with quorum.
For this reason, the motion to raise quorum at Faculty Meetings will be revisited and voted upon at the next
scheduled Faculty Meeting, Monday, October 23, at 4:00 p.m. in Rinker Auditorium. (Note: This will constitute
official notice that at the October 23, 1995, Faculty Meeting the following motion will be introduced: "A quorum
shall consist of 40% of the full-time faculty plus one." Since this is a change in the by-laws, it will require a
positive vote by two-thirds of those present).
