REMINDER. Today at Noon in Elizabeth Hall, John E. John's Room 311, Dr. Brad Bennett will be speaking on
"Ethnobotany in Northern South America: Examples from Highland Quechua in Peru and Lowland Shuar in
Ecuador." This event is sponsored by the Latin American Studies Program, Geography and Biology Departments
with funds from Artists and Lecturers Series. This may be used to satisfy the Arts and Sciences cultural event
requirement.

Live in Elizabeth Hall, Tuesday, November 12. 7:30 p.m.-The Stetson Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Alvaro
Gomez, will perform works of Martinu, Medin£ and Dvorak. Jean Ohlsson West will join the orchestra as soloist
in a flute concerto by Pergolesi. The opening work will be an early 18th-century concerto whose authorship is in
question: Ricotti or Pergolesi or Wassenaur.
Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, November 15. 7:30 p.m.-- The Campus Chorale with Robert Rich, conductor, will be
joined by guests artists, Jean West. Stephen Vail. Carlos Martinez, Christopher Glenn, and Rosalind Beck. Two
of the highlights of the concert will be Persichetti's Winter Cantata, for women's chorus, with Jean West flute,
and Stephen Vail, marimba; and Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, with Rosalind Beck on harp. The ensemble will
also perform works by Handel, Beethoven, and several Renaissance composers. Dr. Rich has just returned from
Germany where he studies voice and choral conducting, and researched repertoire for mall vocal ensembles.

On Wednesday, November 13, guest lecturer Dr. Michelle Miller will present her seminar "Musical Body
Awareness" in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event, sponsored by the School of Music,
is open to all students, staff and faculty. Participants will sit on stage, observers in the hall. In the final segment
of the seminar, Dr. Miller will coach several Stetson flutists, involving all participants in movement as she illustrates
ideas on musical body awareness using a variety of musical styles. From: Jean West
FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR JODI SANDERS. The Stetson community is cordially invited to attend a Farewell
Reception honoring Ms. Jodi Sanders, departing Director of the LIFE program, and a Welcome Aboard reception
honoring Mrs. Mary Beth Ferland as the new director. Please join us between 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Thursday,
November 14, in the Faculty Lounge to wish both Jodi and Mary Beth well in their new ventures.
