ANNOUNCEMENTS
REMINDER-SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FACULTY SENATE. At my request, President Lee agreed to speak at a
special meeting of the Faculty Senate, November 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the Faculty Lounge of the Carlton Union
Building. He will outline his view of how the university has changed in the past 10 years and changes he sees on
the horizon. We agreed that rather than concentrating on day-by-day issues, he would address the big picture and
long-term issues. Other faculty members are welcome to attend this informal meeting.
From: Susan Wilson, Chair, Faculty Senate
OPEN REGISTRATION FOR SPRING SEMESTER. Faculty advisers are reminded that advanced registration for the
Spring Semester will continue from November 15 until the end of the semester. If you have advisees who have
not completed their registration, they should fill out a new course request card, have it signed by you, and then
should turn it in at the Registrar's Office. Completing registration now will avoid having to do it over again in
January. From: Al Wehrle

REMINDER-UPCOMING RETIREMENT OF NORMA B. ALLEN. ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR. STUDENT FINANCIAL
PLANNING. It is with mixed feelings that I announce the retirement of Mrs. Norma B. Allen, Associate Director
of Student Financial Planning. After 30 years of dedicated service to Stetson University, her retirement is richly
deserved. However, after relying upon Norma for the 10 years we have worked together, I will definitely miss her.
At her request, and despite our efforts to change her mind, we are honoring her desire to leave quietly without any
fanfare. If you would like to extend your best wishes to Norma, please feel free to send a note to her at Unit
8379, give her a call at ext. 7120, or drop by her office in Griffith Hall. Her last day at Stetson will be Friday,
November 22. From: Jack Agett, Director, Student Financial Planning
