Ethics and the Self in Russian Culture
Credit: 3

Student Option
A critical reading course focusing on the tools available within Russian and American culture for the construction
and presentation of the self, and the ethical issues which must be addressed in the process. Readings will include
religious texts, philosophy, fiction, folk tales and articles from the social sciences and literary criticism. Images
from sacred and folk art, television, film and the press will also be analyzed. Each student will give an oral

ATTENTION ALL ADVISERS: Please remember that a_ students who have had two or more years of a language
in High School and wish to study that language at Stetson must take a placement exam before registering. Hours
and dates on which the placement test will be administered will be posted at the Language Laboratory in Sampson

ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY:
Dale Carnegie is offering an Executive Instructor Training Conference in the Lynn Business Center on two
consecutive weekends, November 11 and 13, and November 18 through 20. Up to 24 class openings will be
offered to Stetson Faculty and staff at $100 per person. (Books and instructional materials will be included.) This
program is the heart of the Dale Carnegie course and includes 24 contact hours during the two weekends. For
