ANNOUNCEMENTS
It is with regret that we announce the death of Dr. C. Carter Colwell, Professor and Chair
of the English Department. Dr. Colwell, who passed away Friday, August 23, had taught
at Stetson since 1958. In 1980 he received the University's highest teaching honor, the
McEniry Excellence in Teaching Award. The family requests that in lieu of flowers,
memorial donations be made to Stetson University, Campus Box 8279.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 1991, at 5:00 p.m. in Elizabeth

WCEU to feature Stetson professors tonight—Friday, August 30. Stetson Russian Studies
Professors Paul Steeves and Eugene Huskey will discuss the Russian coup on a half-hour
show tonight, August 30, on WCEU-TV, Channel 15, at 7:00 and 11:00 p.m. The show, taped
August 21 before the news broke that Gorbachev was flying back to Moscow, shows Steeves
and Huskey wrestling with the analysis of history in the making. Technical difficulties
