ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Peter Martin Jazz Trio will perform a jazz concert in Elizabeth Hall on Friday,
October 12, at 8:00 p.m. Peter is the son of Bill and Rose Martin. Bill Martin taught
violin, viola, and theory at Stetson University from 1968 to 1976 before joining the St.
Louis Symphony. Rose Martin taught violin in DeLand and now teaches at the St. Louis
Conservatory School for the Arts. Peter has performed with the Marlon Jordan Quintet at
jazz festivals in Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, and New York at Avery Fisher Hall, as well
as at the Blue Note in New York, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and the Newport Jazz
Festival. He has recorded with saxophonist Todd Williams and is featured in a forthcoming
Marlon Jordan CBS release. Peter will perform with Christian McBride on bass and Martin

The Faculty Women's Caucus brunch will be held Saturday, October 13, at 10:30 a.m. at 135
Minnesota Avenue, DeLand. This is a covered dish, so please bring fruit, pastries, or
other appropriate dishes. There will be facilities for warming dishes. Please reserve

The 1990 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM is almost here! A complete schedule of events appears
on the attached Symposium circular. Please help publicize these outstanding Symposium
events by detaching the circular and posting it on your bulletin board. If you are
interested in a class visitation by one of the presenters, refer to This Week (10/5/90)
or call extension 7330 for details. Those interested in attending the annual Symposium
Luncheon should make a reservation by Monday, October 15, by calling Mrs. Redd, extension
7330. Seating is limited. A brief overview of the major events appears below. Events
will be held in the Stetson Room.
