ANNOUNCEMENTS
The intent of this very brief first edition of This Week for the 1990-91 academic year,
is to alert you all that we will be publishing in "full swing" next week. Please submit
your announcements (in writing) by Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. of each week—please no

All Stetson faculty and staff are invited to participate in the Fall Semester Choral
Union. This semester, the choir's concert will feature a performance of Mendelssohn's
Elijah. The Choral Union rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Elizabeth
Hall Auditorium. The first rehearsal will be held September 10, at 7:00 p.m. Musical
scores are available for purchase at the University Bookstore. No audition is required
for Choral Union, nor is there any participation fee. We just need good singers
(especially men) who are eager to work hard toward a good performance on November 20, at
8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, DeLand. Come and bring a friend who enjoys

In anticipation of renovations in the Carlton Union Building, we are relocating several
Student Affairs offices in the Union Building and providing more space for student
organizations. More information on these actions will be provided at the first faculty
meeting. Because of these changes, the former Wheeler House on Minnesota Avenue is being
renovated and a few guest rooms will be available there. We also are negotiating with
the University Inn for a special rate for University guests. More information on these
