Dr. Myriam Sarachik, Professor of Physics at CUNY will be giving a public lecture on
Monday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the George L. Jenkins lecture room in Sage Hall.
The title of the talk is "Becoming a Physicist—Facts, Feelings and Personal
Reminiscences." The visit of Dr. Sarachik to Stetson is sponsored by the Visiting

On Wednesday, November 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in rooms 204/5 of the Carlton
Union Building, the Professional Development Committee will sponsor a grant writing
workshop. The focus will be on developing proposals and resources available through the
Library and the Development Office. Among the participants will be Lou Brakeman, Martha
Clement, and Dave Everett. Dinner will follow in the Private Dining Room. Please call
Cheryl Gregory at ext. 8180, or send your response to Box 8271 to reserve your place.
Reservations will close November 21.

The Faculty Women's Caucus will meet on Thursday, November 29, at noon in the Private
Dining Room. We have some important issues to discuss, so please try to attend to make

Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council will be holding a Christmas Card Drive for the
soldiers in Saudi Arabia from Monday, November 26, until Thursday, November 29. The cards
will be sold for approximately 50 cents in front of the Commons during lunch and dinner
that week. In return for each card bought, we will give one yellow ribbon to wear on the
"Official Yellow Ribbon Day," Friday, November 30. Direct any questions to Michele

LYNN CENTER PARKING. On a temporary basis, the north side of the Lynn Center parking area
will be available for both students and faculty. Temporary instructional signs are being
installed. Please do not park in areas identified as "Customer Service" or "DOT." This
is only temporary and is a means of relieving parking pressures on the south side of
campus. Parking will be redesignated prior to the start of fall semester 1991.
