The Humanities Critical Theory Group will meet today Friday, December 8, at 3:00 p.m.
Readings are Fish, "Is There a Text in This Class" and Abrams, "How to Do Things with
Texts," both in Adams and Searle, Critical Theory Since 1965. For more information

LAST CALL! The Instructional Media Center will be unable to accept requests for
Winter Term films or videotapes after Friday, December 15. Please have your request
in by that date to avoid disappointment. If you do not have a Request Form, just call

The Hollis Leadership Development Council is sponsoring a second Woodrow Wilson
Fellow, Dr. Seymour Meisel, who will be on campus February 12-16, 1989. Dr. Meisel
recently retired as Vice President for Research for the Mobil Research and Development
Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey. His experience will have obvious value for
science students who seek to enter the industrial field. However, he has broad
interests and can be valuable to students in all academic areas who seek careers in
industrial fields. His wife, Jacqueline Meisel, has a strong background in Art and
Art History—she will join her husband on this visit.
Please contact me if your classes or student groups would like to have Dr. Meisel meet

The December meeting of the 1989-90 Faculty Senate will be held on Monday, December
11, at 6:45 p.m. in the Private Dining Room. The agenda will include a presentation
by John Schorr on Enrollment Management. The Educational Policies Committee will make
a recommendation concerning the implementation of plus and minus grades. All faculty
are invited to attend. Dinner will be available at 6:00 p.m. for $4.50. All those
who would like a dinner reservation should call Mitchell Reddish at ext. 547 by noon
