ABSTRACT:
The Judeo-Christian Tradition: An Introduction to Biblical Literature. Edited by
James R. Beasley, with Clyde E. Fant, E. Earl Joiner, Donald W. Musser, Mitchell G.
Reddish. This volume is designed to provide the basic text for a survey course in the
life and literature, and faith of the early Jewish and Christian traditions. Read
along with selected passages from the Bible and the Apocrypha, this book provides
breadth and a significant degree of depth for students who are taking a first course
in biblical history, literature, and ideas. We have tried to give the college student
who has no particular preparation in the academic study of religion a course which
will make a significant contribution to the student's literacy in a relatively
specialized field and at the same time provide an excellent background for later
studies.
RECEPTION FOR FLORIDA COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION BETTY CASTOR. The Faculty Senate is
sponsoring a reception for Commissioner Betty Castor on Wednesday, December 6, at 3:00

in hosting Commissioner Castor's visit to our campus.
