ANNOUNCEMENTS
FIRST SENATE MEETING. The first regular monthly meeting of the Stetson Faculty Senate
will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, September 12, in the Private Dining Room of the
Carlton Union Building. It will be preceded by an optional buffet dinner (approximately $3.50 per person) at 6:00 p.m. Everyone in the academic community is invited
to attend the Senate meetings. Those planning to dine, including Senators, should
notify the Senate Secretary, Dr. Richard Ferland, ext. 211, by Friday, September 9.

All new members of the Stetson Faculty and their spouses are cordially invited to a
reception and orientation program sponsored by the Faculty Senate. It will be held in
the Faculty Lounge of the Carlton Union Building, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 13. There will be several presentations concerning university policies and
programs and important materials will be distributed. Senate members and their
spouses are also requested to participate in this welcome for our new colleagues.

ATTENTION STETSON STAFF MEMBERS: There will be a President's report on the Stetson
University Long-Range Plan on Monday, September 19, at 3:45 p.m. in the Davis Hall
Auditorium. All staff are encouraged to attend. President Doug Lee
Because of the new schedule of classes, Chapel will be held at 11:00 a.m. each
Wednesday. Since this is the first year Chapel has been changed from 10:00 a.m., an
announcement to your classes would be most helpful.
