ANNOUNCEMENTS
Collegial Seminar sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences, will meet today,
Friday, September 23, at noon in the Private Dining Room. The paper of the day will
be "Gorbachev's Glasnost and Russian Religion" by Paul Steeves, Director of Russian
Studies. The seminar is open to all interested persons; bring a carry-up lunch try
or a brown bag. Coffee and dessert provided by the Dean of the College. Other
collegial seminars this year will be October 14, November 11, February 20, March 20,
and April 17. Anyone who is writing a paper that is appropriate for presentation at a
professional conference is encouraged to offer it for consumption by local colleagues.

Unmarried 18-24 year-olds who will earn a bachelor's degree by October I, 1989; who
have outstanding academic records, integrity, humane concern, leadership ability, and
energy; and who wish to study two or three years at Oxford University, should be
referred to Carter Colwell, 227 Flagler, extension 274, for information concerning the
highly competitive Rhodes Scholarship (application deadline October 24, 1988).
