ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW FACULTY. If you were unable to attend the Reception and Orientation for New
Faculty last Monday evening, you may pick up your Faculty Handbook in the Office of

POLITICAL FORUM. The Honorable Judge Edwin Sanders speaks on: "President Bush's War
on Drugs...The Local Scene," Monday, October 2, 12:15 p.m., rooms 204/205 of the

SUMMER GRANT APPLICATIONS are now available in the Office of the Provost and the
offices of the three academic deans. Deadline for application is October 27. A
workshop will be held to discuss the procedures—the date to be announced in next
week's issue of This Week.

TO ALL DEPARTMENTS. All off-campus printing requisitions must first be approved by
the Print Shop Director and then be given to purchasing to obtain a purchase order
number. The requisition must be filled out with the Vendor's name, price quoted,
stock to be used, amount of copies, ink color(s), and a "dummy" of the art work. All
this should be brought to the Print Shop Director so he may ascertain the feasibility
of in-house production as opposed to outside production. If an outside production is
decided upon, a few samples of the finished product must be given to the Director of
the Print Shop so he can file them with your duplicate requisition. Your cooperation
and assistance in this procedure will be appreciated.

FULBRIGHT GRANTS. The deadline for Fulbright Grants for foreign study for grading
seniors is October 31. If you have a student who is outstanding and, if this student
could profit from spending a year abroad in a graduate program, encourage him/her to
see me for information about application. The program is very competitive but our
students should apply. Language competency must be sufficient to engage in the

A publicity workshop, sponsored by the News Bureau, is scheduled Thursday, September
28, at 10:00 a.m. in rooms 204-205 of the Carlton Union Building. All faculty are
invited to attend. Come see how we can work together to publicize the University's
