ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Provost Search Committee is continuing its work. Nominations and
resumes received last summer are now being reviewed. The Committee
goal is to place candidate resumes on file in the library by mid-
October for faculty, student, and staff review.

A reception honoring Mr. Dan Moore will be held on Wednesday, October
8, 1986, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the faculty lounge. Mr. Moore,
Director of Financial Aid, is retiring after 17 years of service.

The first Faculty Collegial Seminar will meet on Friday, October 3, in
the Private Dining Room. The College of Arts and Sciences invites its
colleagues of all schools and the administration to participate in the
intellectual stimulation of this hour. Professor John Hague will be
the presenter; his paper will be "The Anatomy of Autonomy." Abstracts
will be available in advance. Meet at 12:00 noon for a brown bag or
carry-up lunch; coffee and dessert will be provided; the discussion
