Classes Begin-Modified schedule
The reception for new students will be on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the
President's Home. Faculty and their spouses are requested to be present in the
garden to greet these students.
The opening Convocation for the academic year 1982-83 will be held in the Forest of
Arden on Wednesday, September 8, at 9:00 a.m. The various segments of the University
Community who are participating in this event will assemble as follows.
1. The Faculty in Elizabeth Hall, first floor corridor at 8:30 a.m.
2. The Platform Party in Room 1 of Elizabeth Hall at 8:30 a.m.
3. Seniors and Freshmen in their respective reserved sections in the
Forest of Ardent before Convocation begins.
MODIFIED CLASS SCHEDULE FOR SEPTEMBER 8, 1982
8:00 classes will meet 11:00 - 11:30
9:00 classes will meet 11:40 - 12:10
11:00 classes will meet 12:20 - 12:50
12:00 classes will meet 1:00 - 1:30
1:30 classes will meet 1:40 - 2:20
Final afternoon classes resume regular schedule at 2:30, etc.
All advisers should have received a memorandum informing them of their places and
times of meetings with their advisees. If any adviser did not receive this memorandum,
a copy may be obtained in the Provost's office.
REMINDER - Applications and information are available in the Provost's office describing the 1983 Summer Stipends from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The
application deadline is October 1, 1982.
