Classes Begin - Modified schedule
The Annual Stetson Family Picnic will be on Tuesday, August 31 for all Stetson University employees and their families. This year the picnic will be at 5:00 p.m. on and
around the Hat Rack Patio. In addition to the good food, a few informal games (maybe
softball and volleyball) have been planned to give everybody a chance to fellowship
together. The swimming pool will also be open from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for your enjoyment.
To help us, and especially the food service, to plan for this evening of fun, we are
asking that each employee obtain a ticket for each family member who will be attending
the picnic. Please pick up your tickets by Friday, August 27, in the Personnel
Office in Elizabeth Hall. There will be no carry out service at the picnic.
The Registrar's Office will be open on Sunday, September 5, from 12:00 noon until
4:00 p.m. to assist incoming students with problems they may encounter prior to
registration on September 6 and 7.
The reception for new students will be on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the
President's Home. Faculty and their spouses are requested to be present in the garden
to greet these students.
The opening Convocation for the academic year 1982-83 will be held in the Forest of
Arden on Wednesday, September 8, at 9:00 a.m. The various segments of the University
Community who are participating in this event will assemble as follows.
1. The Faculty in Elizabeth Hall, first floor corridor at 8:30 a.m.
2. The Platform Party in Room 1 of Elizabeth Hall at 8:30 a.m.
3. Seniors and Freshmen in their respective reserved sections in the
Forest of Arden before Convocation begins.
