Last day to drop a course
The next regular meeting of the Faculty Senate will be held in the Private Dining
Room (CUB) at 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, October 6. All faculty are invited to attend.
The Stetson Fall Blood Drive will take place on Monday and Tuesday, October 5-6, from
12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Monday and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the
Stetson Room of the C.U.B. Student co-chairmen are Laurie Fambro, Delta Delta Delta
Sorority and Raymond Beesch, R.O.T.C. To avoid the long lines, make an appointment
by calling extension 215.
The Winter Term Self Development program needs your help in order to be successful.
If there is a skill, an experience, any information etc. you can offer students that
you think would benefit or interest them, I encourage you to get involved. Self
Development sign-up forms have been mailed to you from the Student Activities Office.
Please return them to Charles B. Vedder, Box 1387.
Almost half of the 3,173 colleges and universities in the United States are private
institutions, however, their size and individualized attention limits them to only
23% of the total student enrollment. Yet, private institutions turn out 55% of all
graduates receiving baccalaureate degrees, 56% of those who receive law degrees,
43% of those who enter medicine and 45% of those entering dentistry. Of the country's
2,931 coroporate executives, 60% graduated from private institutions, while 50% of
all Rhodes scholars came through the educational process offered by private institutions.
On Monday evening, October 5, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 201 Samson Hall, Elizabeth Roberson
will show slides of Freiburg and West Germany. Miss Roberson has just returned from
a year's study at the Padogogische Hochschule in Freiburg. Anyone interested is
invited to attend.
