The University Forum will be held this year on November 13 and 14. The topic of
discussion will be the University Self Study and its recommendations for Stetson in
the 1980*s. Please make your plans to join us at this time. This may be the best
time of the year for students, faculty, and administrations to interact on ways to
improve Stetson.
Stetson University has just entered into an agreement establishing a scholarship
exchange program for children of faculty with the following institutions: Baylor
University, Furman University, Mercer University, University of Richmond, Samford
University, and Wake Forest University. There are a number of provisions relating
to eligibility requirements and application procedures. Anyone interested in
pursuing the matter should consult with Vice President Graves Edmondson. This
agreement is in addition to those which were previously in affect and which we
announced last year.
The School of Business Administration has been awarded a contract providing a matching grant to establish a Small Business Development Regional Center. The Center,
which will be housed in Davis Hall, will provide counseling and educational services
to the small business community in Volusia and Flagler Counties. Mr. Robert J. Heckel,
formerly a member of the School of Business faculty, has returned to Stetson to serve
as manager for the Center. You are encouraged to direct small business persons to his
office for information and assistance.
FAAS (Faith and Scholarship Society) will hold its first meeting, Thursday, October 15
at noon in Room 204, CUB. All those interested in exploring the interaction of faith
and scholarship in the University are invited to attend. A regular meeting time will
be decided upon. If you desire to participate but cannot come at this time, contact
Rob Brady, ext. 585.
