This Week of September 12, 1980 stated "I would like to express my
appreciation to all who worked at registration. To finish in two
days, allowing one more class day, was quite a feat especially in
view of the fact that our terminals were damaged by lightning."
This statement bears repeating in view of the fact that we completed
registration in two days and our terminals were damaged by lightning.
This will not happen again because we have now been able to obtain
lightning arrestors for our equipment. /s/ Thomas J. Turner
I also want to express my appreciation to faculty, staff and students,
who worked so hard on Sunday, September 6, with our orientation program.
Many parents expressed appreciation for the orientation they received.

The SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) Constitution Week Banquet
will be held, Monday, September 21, 1981 at 6:30 p.m. in the Carlton
Union Building. "The American Revolution of 1981 in the Spirit of '76"
will be the topic of U.S. Congressman Bill McCollum's address. Stetson
faculty and student body are invited to attend as paying guests.

Dr. Ken Everett's article entitled "The Titration of Air with Nitric
Oxide; An application of Gay-Lussac's Law of Combining Volumes," has
been accepted for publication in the Journal of Chemical Education.
E. McGruder Faris of the College of Law faculty was Visiting Professor
of Law at Case Western Reserve School of Law this summer, teaching
Probate and Trust Law. He also attended the Southeastern Law Teachers
annual meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia.
