The first general meeting of the faculty of the University will be held on Monday,
September 3, at 9:00 a.m., in Davis Hall.
Faculty are expected to participate in the opening convocation which will be held
on Thursday, September 6, at 9:00 a.m., in the Forest of Arden.

The following class schedule will apply for September 6 so that everyone will have an
opportunity to attend the Convocation.

The first regular meeting of the Faculty Senate will be held on Tuesday, 4 September, at
6:45 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge, Carlton Union Building. All faculty members are welcome
to observe public meetings of the Senate.
New members of the general faculty are reminded of the Faculty Senate's reception and
orientation for them and their spouses on Monday, 3 September, at 8:00 p.m. in the
Faculty Lounge, Carlton Union Building.
ID cards for all faculty and staff and their dependents will be issued prior to this Fall.
Beginning August 22 through August 31 ID card applications and photographs will be taken
from 9 am - 1 pm in the ID room in the rear of the Student Lounge, Carlton Union Building.
The ID card is free to all faculty and staff with a $5.00 charge for the first card for
dependents and no additional charge for other dependents. In addition, you may also
register your vehicle at the same time. The charge to faculty members will be $10.00
and the charge to staff members will be $5.00 with a $1.00 charge for each additional
vehicle registered.
The Florida Endowment for the Humanities recently agreed to award Stetson University
$6,500 for this year's Winter Term Program: "Turning Points: Crucial Choices and Their
Consequences."
February 8-10, 1980 has been chosen as Homecoming Weekend. Please mark these dates on
your calendar., Your participation and attendance are important for making this weekend
a memorable one for our returning alumni.
On Thursday, August 30, from 9:30-10:30 am, Mrs. Catalano from Southern Bell will be in
Room 204-205, CUB, to give instruction to those new to the University faculty and staff
on our telephone equipment. For those of you who are already using the equipment but
have forgotten some of the features we have, Mrs. Catalano urges that you attend too.

University Office Hours: With the completion of the summer break and the opening of the
fall semester, University office hours will revert to the regular academic year schedule,
effective Monday, September 3—Monday-Friday, 8:00-12:00 noon; 1:00-4:30 p.m.
