General Faculty Meeting - November 18, 7:00 p.m., Davis Hall.
The annual Fast for a World Harvest is being observed on the Stetson Campus this year
on Tuesday, November 18, next week. This very worthwhile event releases money usually
spent on food for projects funded by OXFAM America (The Oxford Committee on Famine Relief) . Students on meal tickets (21 and 15) commit their meals on those tickets for
the day. The cafeteria donates the raw food cost represented by those tickets. Persons
such as faculty and staff not on meal tickets may participate by fasting on Tuesday and
donating the money usually spent on food for the day. Persons who cannot fast for diet
or health or schedule reasons are encouraged to participate by matching funds for the
day. Register your intent to fast and participate by signing up in the cafeteria, or
contact a registrar at ext 325. Registration closes at 1:15 p.m. Monday the 17th.
I am grateful for the good work of the University Religious Life Council in sponsoring
the Fast cited above and to the Rev. Tom Cunningham for coordinating the event here at
Stetson. I urge participation by all of our community who are able.
