"The Ethics of Being a Student"
Business magazine has published as its cover article in the September-October issue an analysis
by Dean David Nylen of the School of Business. The article, "New Product Failures: Not Just
A Marketing Problem," is based on experience and date collected while Dean Nylen was a management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton in New York.
An article by Michael Raymond, "Generic Schizophrenia in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Mainte-
ance," has been accepted for publication in The CEA Critic.
Dr. Wayne Dickson and Dr. Michael Raymond of the English Department have had their article
"A Nontraditional Communications Course for Post Graduate Educators" published in The CEA
Form (10 October 1979, 3-4).
The Stetson Pool is sponsoring a faculty/staff swim party, Friday, October 12, from 7-10:00 p.m.
Coffee and soft drinks will be provided by Morrison's. Free babysitting will be available in
the Conrad Hall Lounge (please provide your child with a toy and necessities). Make your plans
now to spend a relaxing evening at poolside with your fellow Stetson employees.
STUDENT, FACULTY AND STAFF BASKETBALL TICKET POLICY...
On the day of a game, student, faculty and staff members may present their activity cards at
the Box Office of the Activities Center and receive a reserved chairback seat for each activity
card presented. In the event of a sellout or potential sellout, faculty and staff will be requested to sit in the general admission bleacher section of the East stands. If the student,
faculty and staff members should desire to avoid the inconvenience of obtaining tickets on the
day of a game and also be guaranteed reserved seats for the season, they may purchase season
reserved tickets for half price, ($25.00) in a section designated for students, faculty and
staff seating. Tickets purchased at half price can only be used by holders of activity cards
and positive identification will be required. Those who would like to purchase season tickets
should call Walt Cunningham at EXT: 534. Hours for obtaining free reserved tickets on game
days are 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
University Food Service is pleased to announce that limited buffet luncheon service for faculty
will begin in the Faculty Lounge Monday, October 8. The buffet will be available from 11:30 -
1:30, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The cost will be $1.50. The menu will include:
Fresh Fruit, Cold Cut Tray, Lettuce and Tomato Tray, Cheese Tray, White and Wheat Bread, Soup,
Coffee and Tea (iced). This experimental program is being initiated at the suggestion of the
AAUP chapter and is conducted in cooperation with the Faculty Senate.
Dr. John K. Schorr of the Department of Sociology has received a $500.00 grant from the
Southern Regional Education Board. Dr. Schorr will use the grant for research on the Florida
Functional Literacy Exam and for the analysis of the Three Mile Island data at the University
of Florida's computer facilities.
