DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY "STANDBY CONSERVATION PLAN NO. 2, EMERGENCY BUILDING

On July 16, 1979, President Carter ordered the implementation of the regulations governing this plan. As rapidly as possible the University is
making adjustments necessary to comply with these restrictions which do
apply to colleges and universities. Each University facility covered will
have a certificate of compliance posted in the building, and a report of
the building compliance information will be filed with DOE. Necessary
forms for posting and reporting have not yet been issued, but will be filed
when available.
Your good-spirited cooperation can be relied upon and will be most appreciated. General requirements have been widely discussed in the public media
and need not be repeated; a copy of the regulations is posted for information on the Staff Bulletin Board in Elizabeth Hall. In any areas where
temperature controls are accessible to general University personnel, please
keep carefully in mind that controls can be set no lower than 78° during
the cooling season. TT _ _, ,
