I am calling faculty meetings for November 26 and December 13. Each of these will be at
7 p.m. in the auditorium in Davis Hall. These meetings are being called to consider some
very important matters in the life of the University, namely, the report of the tenure task
force and a new program proposal. The session on November 26 will be to share with the faculty
documents in each of these cases and provide answers to questions concerning the meaning of
these documents. The meeting on December 13 will give an opportunity for faculty to discuss
the merits of the documents which members will have had a chance to consider in the interim
from the 26th of November.
Let me also remind you that there will be a meeting, previously scheduled, of the faculty
on November 29, 7 p.m., Davis Hall, for a report to the faculty by the President on the development of the budget for 1980-81.

NATIONAL CAREER GUIDANCE WEEK, NOVEMBER 4-10, 1979.
We would like to have you and any members of your staff come to an Open House at the
Counseling Center from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday, November 5, to review the facilities
of the Career Resource Library. George Williams will be available with information about the
Career Fair to be held November 12, 13, and 14.
The Jiminy Cricket Christmas Party (December 8) for this year falls on the date of the Ohio
State basketball game. I have checked with Walt Disney World and there is no chance of
changing the date for the party.

a former student of Dr. Henlee Barnette.

and Conservative Fields", in the current issue of The Matrix Quarterly of Great Britain.
FACULTY: Winter term is rapidly approaching and all the textbook orders have not been placed
with the bookstore. Please submit your textbook orders immediately. We want to have your
books available when you need them.
Professor E. Earl Joiner has recently been named Chairman for the Florida Convention, and as
a member of the General Encyclopedia Committee for planning Volume IV of the Encyclopedia
of Southern Baptists. This responsibility involves planning articles, securing writers and
editing more than a dozen manuscripts to be completed by July, 1980.
