Special tax deferral arrangements are available for educational employees. The reduction
agreements from last year remain in effect until changed. An optional one time election from
three alternatives to the current maximum tax deferral is now available. Anyone desiring to
initiate or change a reduction agreement should see the Comptroller before September 22.

All requests for special listings of students should be coordinated through the Dean of
Student Affairs. It is in this manner that duplication of requests for such services to be
provided by the Data Processing Office can be eliminated.
The cooperation of the University community is requested to afford the most efficient service
possible to offices who have a need for student information.

On October 18 it is planned that a chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national freshman honor
society, will be installed on the Stetson campus. The nucleus of this new group will come
from the Phi Society, our local honor group. In order that all members of the faculty and
administrative staff who presently are members of Phi Eta Sigma can share in this occasion
and become associated with the new group, it is requested that present members of Phi Eta
Sigma please notify Clif Cox (President of Phi Society) of your affiliation. Clif can be
reached at Campus Box 326. We are excited about having an organization with the stature of
Phi Eta Sigma coming to the Stetson campus, and we hope all faculty and staff will become

The Pre-Law Committee for the College of Liberal Arts will consist of the following professors:
Dr. Bailey, Chairman, Dr. Hague, Dr. Raymond, and Dr. Evans Johnson.
Due of lightning damage to new equipment designed for the University's telephone system, H.
Graves Edmondson has requested a hold on publication of the 1978-79 campus directory until
delayed work orders on several extensions and number changes are complete.
At the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Adult Education Association in June, 1978, Mr.
James Beasley, Assistant Professor of Religion, was elected Vice-President and President-elect
of the organization. The SBAEA is comprised of representatives of Southern Baptist Colleges,
Universities, Seminaries and Bible Institutes. As Director of the Extension Division, Mr.
Beasley is Stetson's representative.
