Paul Langston was recently elected to the seven-member Undergraduate Commission of the National
Association of Schools of Music at its annual meeting in Philadelphia.
The Office of Student Affairs invites all faculty/staff and their guests to a program on Assault
and Residential Burglary on Tuesday, December 4, at 3:30 p.m. in Rooms 204-205 in the C.U.B.
Violent versus non-violent self-defense will be discussed and the lecturer, a consultant from
"Operation Crime-Fight" will also provide information and techniques to enhance an individual's
awareness of crime prevention.
The Artists and Lecturers Committee will sponsor a lecture by Dr. James H. Crawford, Jr.
entitled "Physics and Archaeology - New Physics in Old Pots". The lecture will be held at
8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 1979 in the John Johns Lecture Room on the third floor of
Elizabeth Hall. Please announce to all classes.
Stetson has just received a report from the Florida State Board of Accountancy on the performance of Stetson students in the 1978 CPA examination. Stetson students stood first in
every reported category over all universities in the State of Florida. The State Board gave
special recognition in their report to the accounting faculty of Stetson University for this
performance by their students.

Stetson University's basketball coaching staff is looking forward to hosting the Faculty
members on Friday, November 30th at 6:30 p.m. The place will be the student recreation room
in the Edmunds Center. A preview of the game with University of Indiana, Southeast, our game
plan for the evening and a review of the 1979-80 edition of our "Hatter" team will be the format of the evening. Refreshments will be served. We are anxious to host you all and to start
our 1979-80 campaign.
The Hatter Bookstore will again run a pre-Christmas Inventory Clearance Sale. This year's
sale will be held in the Bookstore itself, with fresh sales merchandise added to the tables
daily. With prices reduced up to 50%, this is a great way to conveniently save money on
Christmas shopping. The sale will run the week of final exams, Dec. 10-14, during regular
store hours.
