This year's Committee for the Harry L. Taylor Prize in the Humanities needs
the help of the Faculty. A word by you to a prospective candidate can often
produce a favorable result. The prize, itself, is a cash award of $250
for the best essay written on "the values and disvalues of war and peace."
A notice of intent to enter the contest should be filed with one of the
three committee members no later than December 1, 1979. Date for submission
of the completed paper is April 6, 1979. Committee members are: C. Carter
Colwell(Room 23L,Box 1293); Marc Lovelace (Room 306E,Box 1260); Kathleen
Johnson, Chairperson (Room 28L, Box 1307). ___^_________

Monday: Please note that there are some regularly scheduled classes for

The weekend of November 3-5 the annual Florida Theatre Conference meeting
will be held in DeLand. Some of the events are scheduled at Stover Theatre.
On Friday, November 3, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. a professional scene painter,
representing ROSCO Laboratories in New York, will be presenting a "Scene
Painting Workshop" at Stover; and on Saturday, November 4, the state finals
of the American Community Theatre play competition will be held in Stover
Theatre from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Stetson community is invited to
attend. There will be a small charge for the plays on Saturday.
