Notice for Liberal Arts Faculty: If you have not turned in your faculty schedule card to
Dean Chauvin, kindly do so at your earliest convenience.
Please remember that the deadline for Winter Term course offerings is September 22.
There will be a meeting for all students planning to intern in the Spring of 1979 on September
27 and 28 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of Flagler Hall.
Summer Research Grants: All applications for Stetson University Research Grants for the Summer
of 1979 should be in the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts by November 20, 1978.
Every application should include the following information:
1. Name and rank
2. Number of years at Stetson
3. Number, amount, date of grants within the past five years
4. Description and value of intended project
5. Amount of time necessary to complete project
6. Form results will take (concert, book, articles, etc.)
7. Place(s) work will be done.
8. Amount requested (a specific budget showing how much will be spent for travel,
materials, secretarial assistance, etc.)
Harry S. Truman Scholarships: Stetson can nominate as many as two candidates (if they reside
in different states) for the Truman scholarship. The Truman scholarship is awarded to students
who will be college juniors next year and is worth up to $5,000 a year. The award is for
students planning a career in government. Application deadline is December 8.

1. Have completed at the time the projected leave will start at least seven years of full-time
service at Stetson, not including previous leaves of absence.
2. Have the prospect of at least 5 years more of service to Stetson after completion of the
leave.
