There will be a business meeting of the Faculty Senate, October 5, at 6:45 p.m. in the
private dining room. Dr. Borders will be present to discuss faculty salaries.
Reservations for dinner at 6:00 p.m. should be in to Dr. Maris (ext. 234) by Monday
afternoon (October 4).

Course proposals for winter term were due Sept. 30. If you haven't sent yours in yet,
please do so. Remember, you should have a proposal for every course you intend to
teach -- including 498 (Senior Project) courses -- because the schedule will be made

Monday and Tuesday, October 4 and 5 are the dates for the Stetson Fall Blood Drive. The
Red Cross will have staff and facilities set up in the Stetson Room, CUB on Monday from *
10:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. , and on Tuesday from 11:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. We would appreciate your making this announcement to your class members. Please do what you can

Beginning October 4, University I. D. cards for faculty and staff members and their families may be obtained Mondays and Tuesdays between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., also Tuesdays and Thursdays between noon and 4:00 p.m., in Room 203, CUB. All University
employee I. D. cards are free of charge. The spouse and one child may obtain them for
$5.00 each, and other dependents are free. Replacements for lost I. D. cards are $1.00.

Nominations for next year for North American Ministerial Fellowships (formerly the
Rockefeller Trial Year Fellowship program) are due by November 20. Students are now
eligible whether or not they have already decided to enter the ministry. Special programs are
available for Black and Hispanic-American students. See Dr. Richard Kindred (ext. 256)

Professor Michael W. Raymond will read a paper, "The Opportunity to Fail: A Vanishing
Need, " at the Central Florida Conference on the Teaching of English, on Saturday, October
