PLEASE NOTE:
1978-79.
Dr. Gary L. Maris has been named Chairman of the Winter Term Committee,
Dr. Ken Everett has had his paper "The Fe(II) - Fe(III) and Hydroquinone-Quinone Reactions
on Oxygen Covered Rodium Electrodes" accepted for publication by the Journal of the
Electrochemical Society. The work was done in collaboration with two Stetson Students,
Laetitia Drew and Sandra Ericson and with Dr. G.M. Schmid of the University of Florida.
Mr. Jerry Mazza has been accepted by the University of South Florida School of Medicine.
Reminder to all faculty: Introductory Sociology,Sy 101,is a prerequisite to all other sociology
courses. Please do not enroll a student in any sociology course if they have not taken Sy 101.
The following members of the Stetson Volleyball Team were away from Campus on Friday,
November 4, 1977. They will be off-campus again on Friday, November 11.

Barbara J. Scott and William E. Joyce will be married Saturday, November 19th at 2:30 P.M.
in the First Baptist Church of Orange City. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be
a reception honoring the couple in the Dickinson Memorial Hall. All members of the Stetson
Community are invited to attend the wedding and reception.

Dr. Dickson and Dr. Johnson participated recently in the October meeting of the Florida "
Council of Teachers of English. Dr. Dickson presented his ideas on individualized instruction
and Dr. Johnson spoke on the controversy in teaching methods.
The Counsling Center staff is offering another short course in Effective Study Techniques
beginning Monday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the CC. If you have students you would like
to refer for this kind of help, please call Mrs. Abernethy at Ext. 213.
The following students will be attending a Debate or Forensics Tournament this week-end at
University of Montevallo. They will be absent from classes on November 10, 11, 1977.
