The latest issue of the Faculty Handbook, in speaking of The Stetson Credit Union, states
that it pays 4 1/2 percent interest. That is history. It should now read: 6% per annum,
paid semi-annually. Also, accounts are now insured for up to $40,000.00 not as previously
and as stated in the Handbook, $20,000.00. We still provide dollar-for-dollar free life
insurance up to $2,000.00 and good for life if deposited before age 55. Also, the CU has
a healthy surplus in the bank and can immediately meet your loan needs at most favorable

FACULTY DEPENDENT TUITION AND TUITION BENEFITS: In accordance with Section IV - Summary
Plan Descriptions of Retirement and Welfare Plans for Employees - Faculty, Administration
and Staff members who qualify and wish credit for faculty dependent tuition or tuition
benefits for the remainder of the Academic Year 1976-77, should submit to the Comptroller
a request for this benefit prior to November 30, 1976.
The request should contain the student name, student number and relationship if different

On Friday, October 16, Dr. Margaret Horton and Dr. Ray Sowers were the presenters of "A
Problem Solving Approach to Valuing in the Social Studies Curriculum as it Relates to Moral
and Spiritual Forces in Today's Society," at the Nineteenth Annual State Wide Social Studies
Convention held in Daytona Beach.
On October 29-30 Dr. Bradford Crain attended a conference of Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows
coordinators from all over the country meeting near Racine, Wisconsin. Stetson University
has just been invited into this program designed to help bridge the gaps between the academic
and the non-academic worlds by having successful professional people be in residence and
share their experiences on college campuses for a period of no less than a week's time.
There are some 70 colleges now in the program with over 250 still on the waiting list.
Stetson's first Visiting Fellows are scheduled to begin in the spring of 1977.
On the day of a game, faculty and staff members may present their activity cards at the Box
Office of the Activities Center and receive a reserved chairback seat for each activity card
presented. In the event of a sellout or potential sellout, faculty and staff will be requested to sit in the general admission bleacher section of the east stands.
If the faculty and staff members should desire to avoid the inconvenience of obtaining tickets
on the day of a game and also be guaranteed reserved seats for the season, they may purchase
season reserved tickets for half price ($25) in a section designated for faculty and staff
seating.
Tickets purchased at half price can only be used by holders of activity cards and positive
identification will be required. Those who would like to purchase season tickets should
call Jon Davies at ext. 409. Hours for obtaining free reserved tickets on game days are
10 to 12 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
University Long Distance Service: The existing PBX equipment on campus is not fully com-
patable with new automatic direct distance dialing equipment being placed in service by
Southern Bell in the DeLand exchange. Until the new University switchboard is installed
in several weeks our operators will be limited in the total number of outgoing long distance
calls which may be place at one time. We ask you understanding and, if it should be necessary, patience.
