Any faculty member interested in serving on the Winter Term Committee for 1977-78 or the
Artists and Lecturers Committee for 1977-78 should contact Dr. Bradford Crain or Dr. Bryan
Gillespie. This should be done before November 15, 1976.
The Artists and Lecturers Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Gerald Critoph,
Department of American Studies, will present a film-lecture series on the following topic:
"The Dominant Woman in U.S. Movies at Mid-20th Century." The films will be shown
on the following dates at the times indicated. All showings will be in the Stetson
Room. The public is cordially invited and there is no admission charge.

Dr. Critoph will give an introductory lecture before the first film, the last film will
be followed by a discussion and reception in the Faculty Lounge.
Stetson may nominate two candidates for Danforth Fellowships for graduate study for those
seeking a career in college and university teaching in undergraduate subjects. A minimum of 25 (out of 100) will be given to minority groups. College seniors and recent graduates (with no graduate study) may be nominated. Please refer possible nominees to Dr.
Carter Colwell, English Department, ext. 246.
Southern Bell informs us that effective Saturday, November 6, 1976, Dial "8" (access to
the toll operators for collect, credit card and charges to other numbers) is discontinued
at the DeLand exchange. All toll calls will have to be placed through the University
operators, Dial "0".

Pre-registration for the Winter Term and spring semester will be November 8, 9, and 10.
REMINDER: All applications for the Stetson University Research Grants for the Summer of
1977 should be in the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts by November 19, 1976.
REMINDER: All applications for Sabbatical Leaves for 1977-78 should be filed in the
Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts prior to November 1, 1976.
College of Liberal Arts catalogue material is due in Dean Chauvin's office no later than
November 1, 1976.
