Winter term classes will begin January 4th. Registration and confirmation of pre-registered
students is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4th. There will be no bells to change classes
for the Winter term.
URGENTLY NEEDED for the Forensics Team. Any copies of Time, The New Yorker,
Newsweek, US Nev^s and World Report or other similar magazines that are not in use and no
longer needed can be used by members of our Forensics Team.
Also, any copies of The Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal, The New York
Times that are being discarded.
If such are available, please call Mr. Grimes at Ext 246 any morning between 9:00-12:00
and arrangements will be made to have them picked up. Materials needed for Winter and
Spring Terms.
Members of the university community who wish to contribute to the Eliot D. Allen Memorial
Fund may send their checks (payable to Stetson University) to Dr. B. Gillespie, Box 1341.
Contributions are used to purchase books for DuPont Library and a special book plate in
memory of Dr. Allen is put in each book. Contributions are tax deductible.
A racket is being perpetrated nationwide against educational institutions and a warning bulletin has been issued by the National Association of Educational Buyers. Fraudulent information is used to entice buyers to order merchandise being offered by long distance telephone.
Please refer all such calls to Mr. Everette W. Johnson, Purchasing Agent. Should any staff
member or department receive merchandise which you have not requisitioned or formally
ordered by University purchase order, leave it unopened, refuse the shipment and request
the carrier to return it to the sender.
Mr. Richard Ffeasel was guest conductor for the Daytona Beach Community College Christmas
Concerts on December 5th in DeLand, and December 6th in Daytona Beach, performing his
composition, PRIDE OF LUDINGTON, and Howard Hanson's CHORALE AND ALIFT TJIA.
Please remind students that the A. V. office does not have films to be loaned for student use.
It is also impossible to loan 16mm projectors and video tape equipment to students icr private
use.
If such equipment is needed by students for classroom presentation please send a signed laenio
to Miss Dial in the A.V. office.
Cassette recorders, screen, a filmstrip projector and slide projector can be rented at the
Mini-sub.
Students are welcome to use equipment in the A.V. office if arrangements are made. Thanks .
