Coordinated by Mr. Thomas Cunningham
Director, Wesley Foundation
To Faculty: Apparently students are still arranging independent studies for winter term.
Please remember that they should (1) present to you a written proposal, (2) get your
signature and your department chairman's, (3) turn in the signed proposal to your dean's
office. This means the faculty member and his chairman become the "curriculum committee"
for that independent study proposal. We hope you will apply the same standards you did to
your own course proposals—that to earn two hours of credit the student should work approximately 16> hours a week. In other words, independent study should not be a way out.
If the study is to be done off campus the proposal with signatures must be submitted to
the winter term committee.
