A large turnout of students and parents is expected for Parents' Weekend, March 22, 23, 24.
All faculty members are requested to attend as many of the planned activities as possible, bul
are asked specifically to be present for the Saturday morning coffee which will be held in the
garden of the President's home at 9:00; at the activities and conversation hour, if scheduled
to be present, and for office consultation during the same (Saturday) afternoon. It should be
noted that no classes will be suspended for Parents' Weekend. All classes will meet as
scheduled. Thank you.
Because we are striving to conserve paper and reduce the amount of off-setting, we should
like to request that notices for the Faculty Bulletin be as concise as possible. If unduly long
notices are sent, we hope you will excuse the necessity of our editing them. Thank you.
At its regular March meeting the Faculty Senate discussed the possible need for a way in
which faculty and staff could communicate information to each other when it is not appropriate
for the Faculty Bulletin. As an outgrowth of this discussion the Senate is launching an
experiment: a newsletter to be called The Senate Sheet will be published every other week
starting Wednesday, March 27. Therefore, if you wish to make an announcement -- houses
for rent or sale, houses wanted, garage sales, rides available for gas-conscious travelers,
etc. -- send your notice to Dr. Horton (Box 1380) by Friday, March 22.
Recommendations for committee assignments must be made to President Johns and Dean
Chauvin soon. If you have not returned your questionnaire showing your preference on
committees, won't you please do so today?
The Stetson Blood Drive for the Spring Term will be held Monday, March 18, in the Stetson
Room, C. U. B. The hours are from 9:00 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. This drive is of special
importance to all faculty and staff members as well as students. Its primary purpose is to
provide blood for West Volusia Hospital and Fish Memorial Hospital. Your blood can save
a life and it may well be the life of a friend or neighbor. The drive is sponsored by the
R. O. T. C. and the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
Hatter Holiday, Wednesday, March 27.
