Dr. Gerald E. Critoph attended the 1974 conference of the Florida College Teachers of History
March 29 and 30 in Tallahassee. He delivered a paper entitled "The Small City in Florida
Urban Studies. "
Bill Newsome, majoring in physics, has won a Danforth Fellowship, which puts him in the top
97 of a restricted field (Stetson could nominate only 2) of 1700 nominees. He is our 8th--the
first in some years--since the program was initiated in 1952.
For the remainder of the Spring semester, Dr. Jim DeLap will be serving as the chairman of
the Faculty Senate. I am on Sabbatical and will be in England. Be thinking of you all -- but
not much!
