The regular meeting of the Faculty Senate is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 in the Private
Dining Room, C. U. B. Dinner is at 6:00 p. m. and business is at 6:45 p. m. The agenda
includes election of officers for 1974-75 and final standing committee reports. Also,
President Johns will be a guest.
The annual Student Awards Assembly will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, May 20 in
Elizabeth Hall. If your club, fraternity, department, or organization has an award to present
to a student please submit the following to the Office of Student Affairs no later than May 10:
name of award, name of recipient, name of sponsor.
A television has been installed in Room 201 of Allen Hall and is attached to the local cable. It
is available for educational viewing. We encourage all professors to take advantage of this
opportunity.
Channel 2 -- WESH-TV -- carries a half-hour show every Wednesday morning at 6:25 on
items of interest at Stetson University. The show will run for the next 13 weeks and to date
has carried such special features as the Model Senate, R. O. T. C. and the Opera Workshop.
Dr. E. Earl Joiner has received the following honors: (1) He was elected to membership in
Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honorary fraternity. (2) At the Annual Meeting of the
Southern Baptist Convention Historical Commission and the Southern Baptist Historical
Society in Nashville, Tennessee he was (a) elected as a director of the Southern Baptist
Historical Society and (b) elected as Vice-Chairman of the Historical Commission. (3) On
Friday, April 26, as President and Representative of the West Volusia Council on Human
Relations, he accepted an award from the Florida Education Association for the Council's
unique community service in the area of human relations.
The following students were absent from class on Friday, May 3, as they were representing
Stetson University at the Senior College Intercollegiate Softball Tournament in Jacksonville
