Thursday, February 14, has been designated as final examination day for the 1974 Winter
Term. In view of the complexity of class schedules, the Winter Term Committee requests
that examinations be handled according to the guidelines listed below:
1. Courses for 1, 2 or 3 hours credit should schedule examinations to last not more than
fifty minutes, and to be given on the 14th at the earliest hour at which those classes have been
regularly meeting. (Exception: 1:00 p. m. TT classes should schedule finals for 2:00 p. m.
on the 14th to avoid conflict with 1:00 p. m. MWF courses, which should be scheduled for
1:00 p. m. on the 14th).
2. Courses for 4 or 5 hours credit may schedule two hour final exams, which should start or
end with the scheduled class hour, at the discretion of the instructor.
3. In the event of conflicts, or for evening courses, the 10:00 a. m. and 3:00 p. m. hours
should be considered for the final exam hour, as exam conflicts are least likely to appear then.
4. Please be sure your students are clear on details of the exam scheduling. It might also
be well to ensure that there is no misunderstanding about the grading option selected by each.

The annual meeting of the Florida Conference of the American Association of University
Professors will be held in Pensacola on February 22 and 23. If a faculty AAUP member
would like to attend it will be possible to secure a transportation and housing subsidy to help
defray expenses. Contact Dr. John A. Hague, Extension 242, if you are interested.
The following students attended a Debate and Forensic Tournament the weekend of February 8
through February 10 at University of South Florida. The students were absent from classes
on Friday, February 8: Deborah Stokes, Mike Duduit, Bobbi Rowe, Clay Henderson, Charles
McCool; Marcia Timmell, Mark Collins, Deborah Collins.
