Stetson University's competency-based teaching program received recognition at a conference
of the South East Regional Association of Teacher Educators in Biloxi, Mississippi recently.
Dr. Margaret W. Horton was a featured speaker and conducted a seminar for the purpose of
clarifying methods of implementation for other colleges and university. This program was
initiated at Stetson University in 1969 and was one of the first competency-based intern
programs in the country.
The university would like to extend their congratulations to the Women's Varsity Volleyball
team for placing second in the State Senior Intercollegiate Volleyball Tournament, held
November 15, 16, and 17 at Florida Southern College. The team members who represented
Stetson were: Mary Andrew, Lisa Christie, Debbie Fowler, Ann Hudson, Jan Klapatch,
Donalyn Knight, Liz Leighton, Susan Marcus, Mary Sansone, Becky Sayre, Diane Rosetti.
