For the first time in many years, the College of Liberal Arts will sponsor a dinner during
Homecoming Weekend. The dinner will be held in the Stetson Room, C. U. B. , at 6:00 p. m.
Friday, February 22. Those of us who have been associated with Stetson longer than one or
two years should strive to attend the dinner because many of our former students will be on
campus for this affair and they will want to greet us.
Mrs. Priscilla Griffith, who received a Stetson Distinguished Alumni Award in 1973, is the
author of an article entitled "Teaching the Twenty-first Century in a Twentieth-Century High
School" which appears in Alvin Toffler's latest book "Learning for Tomorrow: The Role of
the Future in Education. " Mrs. Griffith earned an m. A. in American Studies in 1962.
Mr. Joel S. Wright, Assistant Professor of Sociology, has been notified that his paper on
"Expectations of the Congregational Minister's Role" has been accepted for presentation
at the 1974 annual meeting of the Midwest Sociological Society. The meeting will be held in
Omaha, Nebraska from April 3 through April 6. The paper concerns expectations of Baptist
Congregational ministers in Jacksonville from the points of view of both parishioners and the
ministers themselves. Junior author of the paper is Mr. Terry J. Rhodes, a Stetson sociology
graduate who is currently at Southern Seminary.
There are still quite a few campus directories available at the Public Relations Office. They
may be picked up between 8:00 a. m. and 4:30 p. m. , except for an hour for lunch at noon.
Any departments or individuals lacking sufficient directories are welcome to come by!
