Dr. William Johnson's essay, "Chaucer's Language of Inevitability," will appear this spring
in New Views of Chaucer; Essays in Generative Criticism, edited jointly by Dr. Johnson and
Dr. Loren C. Gruber of Simpson College. The collection will be published by The Society
for New Language Study (Denver, Colorado).
Dr. Beiler, Chairman of the Department of Chemistry, has received word that one of our
students, Joe Bamberg, has been accepted for graduate work at three of the country's
outstanding schools: MIT, Cornell, and Yale.
