All Department Chairmen and Budget Supervisors

University Employment Procedures
A number of statutory requirements and governmental administrative policies demand careful
coordination and uniformity in establishing an employer-employee relationship. This makes
urgently necessary the strict enforcement of the long standing University procedure that all
employment of non-academic personnel is consummated by the Office of the Business
Manager. No person should be considered to have been employed by Stetson University until
the recommendation for such employment has been submitted on the appropriate budget forms
and approved.
This represents no change in our past procedures and this statement is being circulated for
purposes of emphasis, suggested as necessary by the employment Guidelines issued by the
U. S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, October 1, 1972.
