The regular meeting of The Faculty Senate is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, 1972, in the
Private Dining Room. Dinner is at 6:00 p. m. , and business is at 6:45 p. in.
REMINDER: The last day for students to drop a course will be Friday, October 6.
Attention Department Heads of the College of Liberal Arts: Thank you to those of you who have
already turned in your winter term schedules. Those of you have not done so are asked to turn
them in no later thanThursday, October 5. Please prepare them in duplicate and send one copy
to Dean Chauvin with a copy to Dr. Taylor (Box 1303), Chairman of the Curriculum Committee.

The Fall Blood Drive is being held on Monday, October 2, in the Stetson Room from 9:00 a. m.
to 4:30 p. m. All donated blood is used in the West Volusia and Fish Hospitals and our
donations still fall short of the need here. The participation and support of all faculty, staff
and students is needed. Give! And/or encourage your students and colleagues to do so. Thank
you.
Dr. David Stock is the senior author on a paper "Thymidine Metabolism in Mycoplasma
Hominis" that has been published by the Journal of General Microbiology.
Dr. Earl Joiner recently gave written permission for an article he wrote and published in the
Florida Baptist Witness in I960 to be reprinted-in a new book to be published by Eastern
Illinois University. The article and the volume deal with the problem of church and state in
presidential campaigns. Dr. Joiner's article, entitled "Church and State after November, "
was one of the few selected from 462 articles examined for inclusion in the volume. The editor
of the new book is Dr. B. F. McClerren, Associate Professor of Speech-Communication at
Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.
