The Physical Education Department and the Education Department are jointly sponsoring a
reception honoring Mrs. Sara S. Jernigan for her long service to the University and for the
publication of her book, Playtime: A World Recreation Handbook, which was co-authored by
Dr. C. L. Vendien of the University of Massachusetts.
The event will be held in the Faculty Lounge, Carlton Union Building, May 7, from 2:30 to
4:30 p. m. All faculty and friends of the University are invited to share this honor with her.
The annual awards assembly will be heldMonday, May 15, at 10:00 a. m. , in Elizabeth Hall.
If you are a member or sponsor of an organization that presents an award, please notify the
Dean of Men's Office by May 8 concerning the name of the organization, the person who will
present the award, the name of the award, and the name of the person receiving the award.
The Book Club of the Stetson University Women's Club will not meet in May. The next meeting
is scheduled for 8:00 p. m. on the fourth Tuesday in September, September 26, 1972. The
book selection Pairing by George R. Bach and Ronald Deutsch has been ordered and should be
available in the Bookstore next week.
The following members of the Collegium Musicum were absent from classes Thursday, April 27,
from 12:30 - 4:00 p. m. in order to sing at the State Convention of the PEO in Daytona:

Miss Eleanor Leek, Dr. Charles Andrews and Dr. Margaret Wood have been elected to
represent their divisions.
