There will be a Humanities Division Meeting, 10:00 a. m. , Monday, March 27, in Room 5-L.
There will be a meeting of the AAUP on Monday, March 27, at 12:00 noon, in the Stetson Room.
Please obtain your lunch through the regular cafeteria line. The meeting is open to all members
of the Stetson faculty.
On Monday, March 27, a Jewish Passover Seder will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the First
Baptist Church of DeLand, Cantor Michael Goodman of Temple Shalom in Deltona will be the
leader. Everyone, Jew and Gentile, is invited to attend and share in this experience. The
service will begin at 6:00 p. m. , and the evening meal will be served at 7:00 p. m. Cost will be
$1.50. Tickets are available at the office of the First Baptist Church or in the Baptist Campus
Ministry office of Allen Hall, Extension 210.
To Members of the University Group Insurance Plan: The report for the 12 months policy year
which ended December 16, 1971, shows that for our health insurance protection, the Equitable
Life Assurance Society paid out on our behalf 110% of the premiums paid by the University and
the employees. In view of the increased premium rates which became effective several weeks
ago, we felt that you should have this additional confirmation on the necessity of that rate
increase.
Mr. Douglas H. Taylor, a chemistry major, has received a Florida State University "All-
University Fellowship" for graduate study. This is a choice award, and will be used in
oceanography.
Mr. Bruce Rose has been granted a National Science Foundation Fellowship for graduate studies
in mathematics. In view of the marked reduction in federal funds available for fellowships, the
award is a special distinction for Mr. Rose. Mr. Rose has been accepted for graduate studies
at the University of California at Berkley, the University of Chicago, Yale University, Cornell
University, the University of Wisconsin, and Northwestern University. Chicago and Cornell have
each offered to supplement his N. S. F. grant with a $1, 000. 00 award.
The following students were absent from classes on Friday, March 24, to attend a debate
tournament at Enterprise, Alabama: Bob Bugg, Ann Insley, Cindy Horton, Pete Hooper, Ellen
Lewis, and Diane Gilman.
