Dr. John L. Evans will present a paper entitled "The Petrashevtsy's Role in Pre-Reform
Russia" at the Tenth Annual Southern Conference on Slavic Studies at Chapel Hill, N. C.
on October 1.
A recent issue of Choice includes this flattering comment about Dr. Lycan's book, Alexander
Hamilton and American Foreign Policy:
"The author delved ably and extensively into the original sources and the better
secondary literature to demonstrate Hamilton's substantial influence upon the
foreign policy of the Federalist Presidents. He has also rescued Hamilton
from a host of Jeffersonian slurs perpetuated by unsympathetic academics. "
Renovation of the organ in Elizabeth Hall forces us to hold this week's Chapel Services in
Davis Hall Auditorium. The service will be under the leadership of students.
