There will be a luncheon meeting of the AAUP at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 5, in the
Stetson Room. Obtain your lunch through the regular cafeteria line. As usual, the
meeting is open to all faculty.
On Monday night, April 5th, at 8:00 p.m. , there will be an ODK reception for all ODK
members in the faculty lounge of the Carlton Union Building. All faculty members of
ODK, active and inactive, are urged to attend. The reception will be in honor of the
newly tapped faculty and student members of ODK. This group has not met for some
time so please try to be present. The formal initiation of these new members will take
place at 7:00 p.m. April 5th,in Allen Hall. We hope you can attend this activity also.
A report on a study concerning self-directed personal growth groups (Encounter Tapes),
appears in the current issue of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, and is co-
authored by Mr. David P. Davis of the Psychology Department. The article, "A Personal
Growth Program for Self-Directed Groups," appears in Volume 6, No. 4, 1970.
Dr. Harold Schultz gave the Willson-Addis annual lectures this week at Bavlor University
(March 21-24). The theme of this year's Series was "Christian Higher Education in Crisis.
In addition to two luncheon meetings and a series of classroom engagements, Dr. Schultz
gave four major addresses entitled, "Christian Higher Education:Crisis in Identity",
"Today's Choices:Tomorrow's Colleges", "Reaction and Revolution in the Church", and
"English Higher Education:Church, State, and Democracy. "
Dr. Morris Reagan will present a paper at the Florida Academy of Sciences meeting ,
March 25-27, entitled "An Interdepartmental Natural Science Course for Honors Students. "
Dr.Jusick, Dr. Stock, and Dr. Knapp are co-authors of the paper, which is to be delivered
to a science teaching session and reports the University's experience during the past year
with the Natural Science Seminar for Honors Students.
Dr. Jusick has accepted an appointment to a National Science Foundation summer institute
in astronomy for college teachers, to be held on the LSU campus for an eight-week period
during the 1971 summer.
