The ninth annual Conference of the Florida College Teachers of History was hosted by
Stetson University April 2-3. Gerald E. Critoph was elected President. Dr. Critoph
was program chairman and two Stetson faculty members read papers: Marc Lovelace,
"Archaeology in Teaching History, " and Harold J. Schultz, "Victorian Liberalism: A
Crisis of Identity. "
Miss Eleanor Leek and Miss Frances Buxton of the School of Music attended the national
convention of the Music Teachers National Association meeting in Chicago March 22-25.
Dr. John H. Scalf has been selected to participate in the National Science Foundation
Summer Institute in Methodology for College Teachers to be held at Lovola University.
On April 6, Rob Inglis will give a solo dramatization from The Canterbury Tales at
8:00 p.m., in Stover Theatre. Please announce this presentation to your classes.
Mailing costs will increase sharply with the proposed postage rate increases. Your
cooperation will be needed in a survey of our expected mailing requirements. The
University Postmaster, Mr. Ralph Becker, will be contacting Department Chairmen
and office supervisors to determine all postage requirements for specific mailings beyond
normal daily routine correspondence. Please be considering your needs before Mr. Becker
contacts you.
The personnel functions previously administered by Mrs. Patti Young, Room 203 -
Elizabeth Hall, extension 334, have been consolidated into the Business Manager's
office - extension 323.
