Dr. Robert Fox, Chairman of the Graduate Council, was recently advised that an article,
"The Preparation of American Teachers, " adapted from his lectures given at the University
of Zagreb, Yugoslavia, in the spring of 1969, has been published in the periodical
Pedagoshki Rad, journal of the Pedagogical-Literary Board of the Educational Association
of the Socialist Republic of Croatia. Serbo-Croatian title of the article is: "Shkolski
Sistem u SAD" (the School System in the USA).
Another article is expected to appear shortly at the University of Skopje in the Republic
of Macedonia, entitled "The Preparation of American Teachers, " adapted from lectures
given at that University in May, 1969.
The Faculty Senate Committee on Honorary Degrees is anxious to receive faculty nominations in order that they may leave to the succeeding committee a bank of suggestions upon
which it may draw. Our last appeal for nominations brought forth virtually no response.
The administration appears eager to have faculty nominations, and it is very likely that
some such nominations will result in the, awarding of degrees. Nominations should be
sent to Evans C. Johnson, Box 1336.
"Repeating the Chorus Once Again in Unison, with Vigor" from Volume XI, Number 13,
Faculty Bulletin: PROCEDURE FOR ENTERTAINING UNIVERSITY GUESTS: On occasion,
representatives of the University have made arrangements for special restaurant services
asking that the charges be billed to Stetson University. The University does not maintain
accounts with motels and restaurants and such arrangements must be authorized in advance
through the Business Manager's office so that a purchase order may be written. Please
use this procedure should you at any time be responsible for entertaining University guests.
Dr. Paul Cable, Mercer University; Dr. Russell Helmick, Louisiana State University;
and Miss Nell Kannswisher will be on campus March 7-9 reviewing graduate programs
in education as representatives of the National Council of American Colleges of Teacher
Education. Stetson is one of the four colleges and universities in the State that is
accredited by NCATE.
